about

A stripped back acoustic song - just guitars, finger snaps and vocals - but nevertheless very atmospheric and soulful. It was inspired by an old Soviet film called 'Girl Without An Address' (Девушка без адреса). You trail around the city, looking here, there and everywhere for the girl of your dreams, but she is nowhere to be found. So you take the melancholy ride home on the last train.

lyrics

LAST TRAIN HOME

I roamed the city streets,
Got soaked to the bone
When the gentle summer rain
Turned into a storm!
I called you on the telephone
But they said you had gone,
Didn't leave a forwarding address.
So I went to the station
With a heavy heart in my chest
And I caught the last train home.

I returned the next day,
So lonesome, lowdown and blue.
I didn't know what to do
Without you!
I called you on the telephone
But they confirmed you had gone,
Didn't leave a forwarding address.
So I went to the station
With a heavy heart in my chest
And I caught the last train home.
